The always excellent EconTalk podcast this week features Megan McArdle talking about debt. Definitely worth a listen. Of particular interest to me were McArdle's comments on bankruptcy at the 50 minute mark.
She's also using Dave Ramsey's program to pay down her debt, and provides some insights about that process. What doesn't come up, though, is how much it costs to participate in one of Dave Ramsey's classes. I've always thought it ironic that Ramsey offers such a costly array of products and services to an audience that has demonstrated a sub-optimal command of personal finance. Not that I want to get into a fight with any Dave Ramsey fans; I know his system can be very effective, and he has a lot of good advice. I just think his products are expensive.
