Boomer Filing BK
According to this article at accountingweb.com, Middle-aged Americans are filing for bankruptcy in record-high numbers.
Traditionally, young people declare bankruptcy more than anyone else, but I've been warning for a few years about how elderly Americans were filing bankruptcy in increasing numbers due to high health care costs. (And maybe the rise of casino gambling across the country, and probably because they're supporting their grown children more and more.)
Now, boomers are filing BK because they're supporting both their elderly parents and their children. The biggest mistake people make when they have debt troubles is waiting too long to seek help. That's why it never hurts to see a reputable COA-Accredited credit counselor at the first sign of trouble.
